Monel 404 is mainly used in chemical and petrochemical applications as well as in marine development. It can be used to manufacture various heat exchange equipment, boiler feedwater heaters, petroleum and chemical pipelines, vessels, towers, tanks, valves, pumps, reactors, shafts, etc.

Monel alloy steel plate description

Monel 404 alloy is a single phase solid solution Ni-Cu alloy which has good corrosion resistance in many media environments. From mild oxidizing media environments to neutral environments to suitable reducing environments, it has good corrosion resistance. This alloy has a long history of use as a corrosion resistant material.

Processing：The alloy can be machined using the same machining methods used for conventional iron-based materials. Water coolant is used for high speed machining. The material shrinks during machining and care should be taken to ensure dimensional accuracy by machining shrinkage allowances.

Welding：Monel 404 welding performance is good, can be used TIG and MIG method, can be used Monel body or EniCu-7 wire, welding rod; or manual arc welding and submerged arc welding; can be welded with carbon steel and low alloy steel
