1060 Aluminum Plate: Pure aluminum with good electrical conductivity and high plasticity, suitable for various industrial applications. Aluminum has low density, much lighter than common metals like steel and copper, suitable for lightweight structures. Its surface is easy to process with various surface treatments such as anodizing, painting, and coating, thus enhancing its decorative properties.
1060 plate is a carbon steel that is widely used in wear rail and other applications where flame hardening, for surface hardness, is commonly used. 1060 plate is spheroidized annealed which is ideal for subsequent machining, forming, quench-and-temper heat treatment and flame hardening.
May be hardened safely by any of the conventional methods of treatment: direct heating and quenching, flame hardening and induction hardening.
The physical and thermal properties compare favorably to those of similar steels. In flame hardening, the expected hardness range is Rockwell C 60-61 regardless of section size, since only the immediate surface is affected by this process of hardening.
