410S Stainless Steel Plate

410S stainless steel plate is a low carbon, non-hardening, general purpose 12% chromium martensitic stainless steel. The low carbon and low alloy content minimizes austenite formation at elevated temperatures, which limits the alloy's ability to harden. Even with rapid cooling from above critical temperatures, 410S remains soft and ductile. This non-hardening property helps prevent cracking when the alloy is exposed to high temperatures or when welded. 410S is fully ferritic in the annealed state. It exhibits comparable corrosion resistance and good oxidation resistance to 410.

The corrosion resistance of 410S stainless steel is similar to that of Type 410, resisting corrosion under atmospheric conditions, fresh water, mild organic and inorganic acids, alkalis and some chemicals. Exposure to chlorides during daily activities (e.g., food preparation, sports activities, etc.) is usually satisfactory when properly cleaned after use.

Features

The stainless steel plate has a smooth surface, high plasticity, toughness and mechanical strength, and is resistant to corrosion by acids, alkaline gases, solutions and other media. It is an alloy steel that does not rust easily, but not absolutely rust-free.

Corrosion resistance

Stainless steel has a similar resistance to general corrosion as the unstable Nichrome 304. Prolonged heating in the temperature range of chromium carbide degrees may affect Alloys 321 and 347 in harsh corrosive media. Mainly used in high temperature applications, which require strong resistance to sensitization of the material to prevent intergranular corrosion at lower temperatures.

High temperature oxidation resistance

Stainless steel plates are all resistant to high temperature oxidation, however, the oxidation rate will be affected by inherent factors such as exposure environment and product form.
